maryland therapist - welcome to adhd world! Regarding your question - there are two possible reasons in my mind as to why Vyvanse may have helped where other meds haven't. It could be that the amphetamine medicines are helpful - tho...
OKE24 - I have to say that's peculiar... Vyvanse is supposed to last up to 13 or more hours! and it's supposed to be independent of any stomach or absorption issues... I would talk to your doctor about your particular requests....
could you possible recommend me a good consultant in the field of adult ADD in the state of Israel? thanx in advance,

Dr. Kenny,
I am new to this group but I am not new at all to ADHD. I have two sons with ADHD, 10 and 7. The 10 yr old was just recently switched from Concerta to Vyanse because he developed "tics" that were interfering with his daily activity. My younger son Ethan has ADHD and ODD, I am having such a hard time with him at school. He gets very angry when he does not get to complete things, or when he sent to timeout. This causes him to kick and stomp. He has been suspended from school several times. Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with his defiance and anger?
I'm an adult who has been diagnosed with ADHD. I currently live in the Barrie area. I have an amazing family doctor but we are having a hard time with medication. Can you recommend anyone in my area or even in Toronto that specializes in Adult Adhd. I would really appreciate you assistance. I'm starting to get really frustrated. I started with Strattera and slowly went up in dosage (no results) We've tried Seroquil (I had a huge negative reaction to my first dose and had to immediately stop taking it) I'm currently on Adderall XR although I noticed some improvements in the beginning it no longer seems to be helping. We have started slowly and have gradually increased. I'm on 20 in the am and then take another 10 around 2pm to help with the afternoon crash. I'm still having issues with focus, am easily distracted, impulsive and I have even started to notice that I am easily overstimulated by lights and noise. Walmart is virtually a nightmare store for me because I get such bad boggle that I have trouble dealing with it. If you could steer me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
Just a question I have in mind, Why is it that you have so many members( you said we have reached 1000) but it seems that there's such a small amout that really participate or am I mistaken?
Thanks, and yes I'm very excited about how my son has developed into a fine young man. He will be attending this October, the second part of his theory portion of his apprenticeship in carpentry. He has tapped into his gifts and life is so positive for him.
Ken - I'm glad the postcard on ODD helped so much. Also - when it comes to the assessment - an assessment can be done in one session, if there are all of the supporting documentation and information gathered in advance. Eliane - Thank you for your comments. I realize we need more tutorials. The feeds and the forums are the next to be done.
Hi Dr. Kenny. Just got your audio post card where you explained "co morbidity" and touched on ODD. This has shed a lot of light on some issues I have been having that I did not find anywhere else when going through the various ADHD material. Thanks for the great information. Its already explained a lot that I have been battling to come to grips with.
