I should be on my way to a friend's for the evening for coffee and girl talk.  Instead, I'm sitting at my computer due to icy roads.  Christmas is just 4 days away.  My house looks like a cyclone hit.  Only one batch of cookies have been made.  I still have a little shopping to do and wrapping to do.  My kids are acting like wild banshees.  We took them to two Christmas parties yesterday.  They all got at least 6 new toys!  My almost 6 year old is angry.  Everyone else got good toys and he didn't.  He is in the process of breaking his toys and trying to break everyone else's.  He's angry because he went to visit his birth mom and she didn't give him a gift for Christmas.  He was always her favorite and feels entitled to receive the biggest, the most, and the best of everything.  Not so at our house.  Oh well, we love him anyway!   My oldest daughter is flying in tomorrow. I can hardly wait!  She and I will go shopping and just spend time together.  She is also ADD.  If we're really lucky, we'll be able to complete our shopping goals.  My new thought is, if I don't  find what I need by tomorrow evening, everyone else gets gift cards.  It may not be very personal, but at least I took the time to find out which stores they like!  Christmas will come wether I'm ready or not.  The kids will have fun.  No one will really care what my house looks like.  I can always buy cookies, and there are gift bags for all the presents I don't have time to wrap.  That should cover all my bases.  I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
